The world was thrown into a frenzy with many public figures slating the United States of America for being as authoritarian as China. On 7 th June 2013, the front page of The Guardian read, “Revealed, how the US secretly collects private data from AOL, Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Paltalk, Skype, Yahoo and YouTube”. If Snowden has taught us anything, it is the fact we have no idea who or what is somewhere just watching us and recording our daily lives.
